Books for Babies

Because it's never too early to help children discover the joy and importance of reading, the Friends of the Laurel County Public Library send a baby board book home with every new baby born in Laurel County - and with more than 1,000 babies born each year at Saint Joseph London, that's a lot of future readers!

The board book is packed inside a Books for Babies backpack also containing information about the Laurel County Public Library. Parents who register their baby with the library also receive a postcard for another free book on the baby's first birthday.

The Books for Babies program is implemented by Friends volunteers and is funded entirely by proceeds from Friends' used book sales held throughout the year.
