Drop Your Drawers at the Library

We’re once again joining other libraries across Kentucky that are asking folks to “drop their drawers” for a great cause. Make your next visit to the library a brief one, for a good cause, as part of our Drop Your Drawers underwear drive.

This year, we’ve set a goal of 1,000 pairs but we can’t get there without your help!

Why underwear?

Children need underwear at school for a variety of reasons, including accidents, illness, underwear not available at home, inability of family to wash clothes regularly, homelessness, children who dress themselves inappropriately, family issues, and etc.

We’re told that on average 30-100 pair of underwear are given out every month at schools to children in need.

How can you participate?

It’s easy! Drop off packages of new underwear for boys and girls (preferably sizes 4-16) from November 15th – December 15th at our front desk. Donations will help replenish Laurel County and East Bernstadt elementary schools’ supplies of emergency underpants and provide direct assistance to each school’s Family Resource Centers.

If you or your organization/business would like to make a monetary donation, your contribution will be used to purchase underwear for drive.
