Kanopy Streaming Video Service is Now Available
We’re so excited to introduce Kanopy to our patrons. Kanopy provides patrons access to films that are often difficult or impossible to access elsewhere and that are of unique and cultural value. The programs and films feature diversity with a wide array of foreign films and films that deal with current affairs.
Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, classic films, and thousands of independent filmmakers. There’s also storytime favorites and familiar characters located in the Kids section of Kanopy!
The best part…there’s no holds or waiting lists so you can watch any video immediately.
Setup is easy! Visit Kanopy and create a user account. You can use your email, Facebook, or Google logons and then connect it to your library card. All you’ll need is your library card number and your password/pin.
After linking your account you’ll be on your way to watching videos! Take a look below and learn what you need to know to get the most out of this service.

Kanopy’s films are free to watch
Thanks to the Laurel County Public Library, you can watch award-winning films for free. Patrons will receive 10 credits each month to watch films.
3 days to watch each film
After pressing play, you’ll have 3 days to watch the film an unlimited number of times…with no late fees!
Play credits refresh on the 1st of each month
Play credits are free to use and refresh each month. Become a film buff and hit your play credit max each month!
Build your watchlist
Save films to your watchlist and create your own collection to enjoy later. Don’t worry, saving films to your watchlist does not affect your play credits.
