If you’re like the majority of Sci-Fi fans, then you’re still missing your weekly dose of new Walking Dead episodes. Don’t be sad, we’ve got tons of books and movies to help you get your fix of apocalyptic nightmares.
Odds are, if you’re a fan of this show, you know that it’s based on a comic book series by Kentucky native Robert Kirkman. He could’ve witnessed a few UK losses on State Street and might have been inspired by watching the reaction of fans and the mistreatment of a few couches.
Well, the series of comic books go much farther along than where Rick and the gang are at in the show. They even branch off into other stories, like The Walking Dead : Rise of the Governor. It’s worth noting that the television series varies from the comics a bit, so you might not be spoiled by reading these other stories.
Another great series is The Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant. This series leans heavily on how science had given us cures for many diseases but in turn has created a new terrible plague that couldn’t be stopped.
If you’re interested in books that come to life (or in this case living-death) on the screen, here are some books that were turned into movies you might want to give these a try. World War Z and I Am Legend, both with interesting takes on how people and zombies could react if such an event occurred.
Let’s not forget the ever popular Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Think of it as Elizabeth meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The movie for this book is set to be released sometime in 2016.
Then again you could always re-watch the series on DVD and I’d bet you’ll see lots of things you missed the first time.
