Programming and Events Suspended or Rescheduled Until April 3rd

The Laurel County Public Library has been closely following and monitoring COVID-19 updates to ensure the wellness of all Library patrons and staff. Under the recommendation of Governor Beshear for all Kentuckians to avoid crowds and large gatherings, the Library has decided to postpone all library programs effective immediately through April 3rd.

Outreach services will be limited during this time but THE LIBRARY WILL REMAIN OPEN AS USUAL. Library staff will continue to wipe down counters, furniture and computers after use and the Library recommends that both staff and customers practice social distancing while in the Library’s buildings.

Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the Library’s digital collection. The number of items that can be downloaded has been temporarily increased to fifteen for Hoopla, Kanopy, Overdrive, Kentucky Libraries Unbound, and RBdigital. You can obtain a digital library card by clicking this link https://www.laurellibrary.org/get-a-library-card/.  Our digital collection can be accessed via our website 24/7.

In addition, no fines will be accrued on any library account during this time.

The Laurel County Public Library will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds and make future decisions based on the recommendations of the local Health Department and Governor Beshear.
