Heart Healthy Eating: Don’t Pass the Salt – CANCELLED
Tue. May 14th, 2019 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm EDT
This event has been cancelled. We’re sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
Salt is an ingredient in just about every type of processed food or restaurant meal, so when you begin a low-sodium heart diet, figuring out where to start can seem overwhelming. The goal of this class is to go over the basics: low sodium staples to stock your pantry, ways to reduce salt and boost flavor in your home cooking, and heart-friendly restaurant recommendations.
Presenter Kaelin Telschow will discuss her family’s adjustment to a low-sodium heart diet and will demonstrate several heart healthy dishes. Sample tastings will be available for participants.
RTEC transportation will be provided for this program by calling 864-5759 and scheduling a pick up and drop-off time. All arrangements MUST be made 48 hours prior to the time you wish to visit the library to allow for scheduling.
All events offered by the Laurel County Public Library are free to attend unless otherwise noted in the description above.
The library makes every reasonable effort to provide equal access to all patrons. Please call us at least three days in advance to request accommodations.
