Murder and Mayhem in Kentucky – Session 2

Tue. September 5th, 2017 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm EDT

Free

Join us for the second session of a three-part scholar led book discussion series that will cover “true stories of bone chilling cruelty and heart-wrenching heroism” that took place in Kentucky and other Appalachian states.

Guest facilitators for this session will include current Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb and current Whitesburg Mayor James Wiley Craft. Danny Webb was a Lieutenant with the Kentucky State Police in charge of detectives at the Hazard Post and James Wiley Craft was the Letcher County Commonwealth Attorney during the time of the Acker murder and trial.

The anthology, Appalachian Murders and Mysteries by Gifford and Pendarvis, will be used during the entire series.

All events offered by the Laurel County Public Library are free to attend unless otherwise noted in the description above.

The library makes every reasonable effort to provide equal access to all patrons. Please call us at least three days in advance to request accommodations.
