Total Eclipse of the Sun

FreeJoin University of the Cumberlands professor Larry Newquist in a discussion concerning the spectacular total solar eclipse of the sun that will be visible across the width of the continental U.S. on August 21st.
Dr. Newquist will be demonstrating why solar eclipses occur, how they are related to the phases of the moon, ways to safely view the sun, and weather permitting, actually viewing the sun through a telescope.
Participants must be age 16 or older and they will receive a pair of solar filter goggles to be able to view the solar eclipse safely (While supplies last.)
All events offered by the Laurel County Public Library are free to attend unless otherwise noted in the description above.
