World War I and America

FreeJoin us for this scholar-led program and explore World War I’s transformative impact.
Dr. David Bettez will facilitate a discussion on WWI, including a focus on Kentucky, race, and women in World War I. Dr. Bettez is the author of Kentucky and the Great War: World War I on the Home Front.
This program is part of World War I and America, a two year national initiative of The Library of America presented in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the National World War I Museum, and other organizations, with generous support from The National Endowment for the Humanities.
All events offered by the Laurel County Public Library are free to attend unless otherwise noted in the description above.
