About Hoopla
Hoopla Digital is a digital media service that partners with public libraries to provide their patrons with access to a vast collection of digital content such as e-books, audiobooks, comics, music, movies and TV shows. Library patrons can access the content on Hoopla Digital via the internet or mobile app using their library card.
Once patrons have logged into the service with their library card, they can browse the collection and borrow content for a set loan period, usually ranging from three days to 21 days, without having to worry about late fees or due dates. The borrowed content can be streamed online or downloaded for offline use. The borrowed content is automatically returned to the library when the loan period is over, so there is no need to worry about returning the content on time.
Hoopla Digital is an easy-to-use and convenient way for public library patrons to access a wide range of digital content. By partnering with public libraries, Hoopla Digital helps to expand the services and resources available to patrons, making it easier for them to discover and enjoy digital content.
Bonus Borrows
Hoopla’s Bonus Borrows allows patrons to borrow additional items beyond their monthly allowance. Each month Hoopla puts together a curated list containing hundreds of audiobooks, eBooks, comics, and videos that patrons can borrow and enjoy without using any of their monthly instant borrows.
Kids Mode
Hoopla Kids Mode is a multi-format, digital media experience designed especially for kids (up to age 12). All of the content – movies, TV shows, music, audiobooks, eBooks, and comics – has been curated and brought together in this one family-friendly place.
Kids Mode is a feature that should be used with parental guidance. There are different age ranges using this feature and the titles available range from G-General Audiences to PG – Parental Guidance Suggested. Parents or guardians are expected to decide whether a specific title is appropriate for their child.
Hoopla BingePass
With Hoopla’s BingePass one borrow gives you unlimited access to stream entire collections of content for seven days. Some BingePasses let you explore directly through a partner’s platform, while others give you access to whole collections of content on Hoopla.
After you borrow a BingePass, you can access the content immediately. To access the content again, you can find your BingePass in the Borrowed section of My Hoopla.
Once you’ve borrowed a BingePass, you’ll be logged into the BingePass partner website or app where you can explore all they offer, directly through their platform. Some passes keep you on the Hoopla website or app and simply allows you to borrow from exclusive collections.
When your borrow period is up, you can borrow the same BingePass again.
Follow these instructions, depending on your device:
- iOS devices: In the bottom bar of the app, select the More button. If it is not already selected, tap the BingePasses tab at the top of the screen.
- Android devices: At the top of the main screen in the app, you’ll see a set of buttons featuring the types of content available (e.g., Audiobooks, Comics, Ebooks, etc.). Swipe to the left to show more options, and BingePasses will be the last button in the row.
- In a browser: Find BingePasses under the Browse menu or by visiting the BingePass page with this link »
- All devices: Use the search bar to search for “BingePass.”
Once you have located the BingePass collections, select the collection you’d like to borrow a BingePass for and press the Borrow button.

Frequently Asked Questions
All you need to get started is your library card number and your PIN/password. This is needed for registration if your library requires one. During registration, Hoopla will ask you to enter an email address. This will be your username to log into our service. At this time, you are able to set a password for your account as well.
Yes! Hoopla is constantly getting new titles from various vendors on a weekly basis. Sometimes titles will be added for a limited time, so if you see something you like, check it out before it’s gone!
Hoopla supports streaming to your TV using Airplay and Chromecast. If you don’t want to always use your phone, the setup process is easy but different depending on which device you have.

Hoopla Kids Mode is very simple to activate from within the apps or on their website. Once you’re logged into your account, just go into your settings in the upper right. Depending on which device you’re on it can look like or . Then click/tap on the Kids Mode toggle switch, and you’re all set.
You can also quickly toggle it on and off, without logging in, by clicking the Kids Mode option on the home page in the top right corner!
