Teen Advisory Board “TAB”

TAB is a group of teens that are passionate about cultivating and improving the library experience and services for teens. TAB members will meet on a regular, monthly basis (currently via Zoom) to discuss ideas for programs and services centered around making LCPL a teen-friendly space within the community.

TAB members attend and have the opportunity lead teen library programs, work as volunteers, and act as library ambassadors in their community by sharing information about library programs in their schools, sports, and other social groups.

The Laurel County Public Library wants to hear from Teens. Participating in TAB benefits you, your peers, and other library patrons. Members directly influence what happens with the teen collection, programs, services, and space. Members gain leadership skills, volunteer service hours, and new friendships.

Joining TAB

The LCPL’s Teen Advisory Board’s mission is to allow teens to be a voice, help plan programs and services, choose materials, promote library awareness, and service their community.

TAB terms are divided into three sessions: Summer, Fall, and Spring. Each term allows members to serve for four months. LCPL’s TAB is selected by an application process.

We’re currently accepting applications for the Fall session, which will be from September to December.

Applicants must submit their application in-person at the Laurel County Public Library by August 27, 2021 at 8pm to Susan or Krystyna.
